 At Paws in Chelsea and Soho, we always have dogs and cats for adoption. All of our adoption animals are neutered, spayed, tested and vaccinated.
If you are interested in adopting, we always recommend that you try the "kill shelter" first.
The CACC 1(888)SPAY-NYC (www.nycacc.org ) is a good place to try. They do not give the dogs/cats much time before they are euthanized. The ones that find their way to us are safe. We never cage them (we have no cages) and we keep them until we find suitable homes, no matter how long it takes.
If you don't find what you are looking for elsewhere, then please come visit us any day between 12-3 pm (except holidays). We may be failures at matching up people but we are very good at matching up good prospective pet owners with wonderful pets who need a home of their own.
As you might imagine our space is extremely limited and we try to do the best we can to accommodate. We find strays ourselves, we work with the rescue groups, we try to take some out of the kill shelters when possible. If you know of an animal that needs to be put up for adoption you may call us and request to be put on our waiting list. We can never guarantee how long it will take but as we adopt out the ones we have we will eventually get to you.
